"We're losing him!" came a frantic voice over the headset.
"I'm still here," the pilot insisted.
"We're losing..." the voice cut out and then there was silence.
"Control, do you read me? Control?" the pilot was panicking.
There was no answer. Suddenly flames burst out all around him. The last thing he remembered was reaching for the eject switch, before his thoughts devolved into an inky black void.
The mysterious pilot was brought into the military hospital unconscious. The base didn't know who he was. Some thought he was an alien, some thought he was a Russian spy all because of the unknown, yet highly advanced airplane he was flying at the time of his crash.
When the pilot awakes, he has amnesia. He gradually gets his memory back only to find that he is not only in the wrong place, he is also in the wrong time.

To the reviewer who left one star, you should have read a little more. You would have gotten past the grammatical errors. Life is not so pat, we take the good with the bad. This is what the story is about. There were a few things I didn't care for, but got past them.So, what happens when you find yourself in your past? Not the same past you have lived, but your families' past? You run with it.
This is an easy read, about six or seven hours. (I am not a fast reader.) I think this is for anyone, I normally read James Rollins, so I am surprised I liked it.

An enjoyable read. Bit freaky. Interesting. Would like to know Aunt Emily. Too bad about Steven. Jason/John is very pragmatic once his amnesia subsides. Think time travel would freak most of us out but maybe not knowing who you are is worse. All in all, enjoyable and quick read. Let's see what Part 2 brings us.
There is something about a story where someone ends up in a different time or place and they don't know why that I find intriguing. In this book, a young airfare pilot winds up crashing his plane in 1966. The culture shock from 50 years was amazing; the author could have added a bit more humor to spice it up even more. There is a sequel that I just received, and I'm ready to read it as well. There are some twists and turns in the story that the reader will not expect.
This is an interesting story premise full of twists and turns that you don't see coming. It kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat the whole way. I was totally invested in the characters and story from the first page to the last. I keep wanting to know what was going to happen next which to me is the mark of a good book which this is. I intend to read the rest of the series. More Please!
The books title and sample drew me to read it. In the beginning it was like reading a script from Rod Sterlings Twilight Zone. Believe me that’s a complement. It was a fun read that in a strange way took the results of anomalies of time travel and made them real. How you can go beyond book 1 will be fun to find out.
Well written story based on the idea of time travel causing a man to become his own ancestor. This is probably the best, most cohesive example of this type of story that I have read. Everything in the story is believable and makes sense, and the characters are well written, solid, and interesting. And the military is just as true to type, with varied officers working through the problem.
I started this book on a whim, thinking it would be a lark to read yet I was also ready to bail if it became too outlandish.
I was happily surprised.
I had NO idea it would be both whimsical and entertaining but it was both and more.
Flying, crashing, amnesia, love and loss are all covered. But on top of all this was time travel.
Who would have thought it?
Somewhat reminiscent of "The Philadelphia Experiment" and "The Time Tunnel," the old movie and television series, I found some of both and more.
If you enjoy sci-fi stories with a little skewed humor, you'll enjoy this book. I know I did.
CG has written a novel about a young USAF pilot flying an experimental aircraft. The test were about. The newly installed engine which would increase the speed four times. The first phase of the mission was completed and as they entered phase 2 the modifications to the engine caused the aircraft yo increase speed and disappear off the radar. When the aircraft crashes it crashes during the time of the Viet Nam War. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER
